Ever since we can remember. We’ve been obsessed with the idea of STORIES. We love them. In a book, on a screen, in a game, we’ve always been in love with the idea of being transported to another place, another time, another world.

We’re a couple of bookworms, film nerds, and adventure-seekers who believe life’s best moments are meant to be shared. We love diving into a good story—whether that’s in the pages of a book, on the big screen, or in the middle of our own travels around the world. We LOVEEEEE to travel!
Our story started at Ventana Grill in Pismo Beach, California—Jessa was a hostess, and Colton was a server. We first bonded over our mutual disdain for Jurassic World (seriously, high heels vs. a T-Rex? No Rain? C’mon, now!), and a spirited debate about nerdy comic books sealed the deal. What started as coworkers trading movie critiques turned into a friendship, and then, with the help of one bold birthday message, some Whiskey, and a coffee date, something much more.
Now, whether we’re exploring cobblestone streets in Europe, binge-watching our favorite movies, reading on a rainy day, or laughing with our friends and family, we do it all unapologetically ourselves. At the end of the day, we’re just two people who love all that life has to offer, and being around each other.

How we make your wedding unforgettable!
I. Your Story
Ultimately, our goal is always to craft a personal story unique to you and create heirlooms that stand the test of time.
Everything we do, from your initial inquiry to the delivery of your film, is in service to that main goal.
We want you to know that your memories are treated with the utmost respect and that your story is given every opportunity to flourish!
Many weddings have similarities. You usually have the ‘getting ready,’ the ‘ceremony,’ the ‘reception,’ and the ‘dancing.’ What makes you different from other couples is exactly that…you; no other couple is YOU.
As such, we approach every film as an opportunity to tell your best story, where the wedding is more like the “climactic moment” of said story.

II. Getting to Know You
Once we receive your initial inquiry, we often try to jump on a phone call—not for any reason other than to get to know you both a bit more.
Since you’re trusting us to capture your most important day and tell your story, it only makes sense that we learn what that story is!
During our call, we always like to ask a bit about how you two met (as much as you’re willing to tell, of course, we never want to pry), maybe a little about that initial time together, and often we ask about the proposal. Anything you’re willing to share, we wanna hear it!
This is also a great opportunity for questions! We’re an open book and strive to be transparent in all dealings with our couples. We’re asking you to trust us, and it only makes sense for us to be trustworthy in everything we do.

III. The Lead Up
Communication is key for us.
Months leading up to the wedding, we’ll maintain correspondence through the planning process.
We do this by email and/or phone calls, telecommunication meetings, or coffee meet-ups (if the client desires, we never press), and typically attending at least the ‘ceremony rehearsal’ to officially meet the ‘key players’ for the wedding day.
We typically send an email three months, one month, three weeks, and one week before the wedding for a whole host of different reasons. Again, communication is key, and we want to know you as well as possible (and the ins and outs of your story) and make sure we’re completely prepared to capture all the memories.

IV. The Big Day
It’s all about the details.
We don’t necessarily mean the dress, the rings, the invitations, the flowers, the suit, the shoes, etc. Yes, those things are super important, but what we really mean are details that truly push your story forward and tell us what makes your personality shine.
From a subtle twitch of the mouth because you’re about to cry to the awkward glance you give to your partner because they just said something goofy (but you freaking love them anyway), all of which make you the unique couple you are, and all of which are the details we’re so laser-focused on capturing.
This is “game time.” These are the moments we live for. Everything we’ve achieved in our careers, everything we’ve prepared for, and every wedding we’ve captured before yours has quite literally led to this moment—your moment—your wedding.
We’re not capturing a “Fox Jump Cinematics” wedding but a “Jane and John” wedding. We’re capturing YOUR wedding, and we never know what kind of story we’re telling until the story is told.
With Fox Jump Cinematics, you’re not only getting video storytellers, but you’re also getting a level of service that goes beyond the package you booked with us. You’re getting that attention to detail that only comes from experience. You’re getting a level of care that only comes from people who truly care about you and the preservation of your most precious memories.
Simply put, we want you to have peace of mind knowing your day will be captured with quality and the care it deserves.

V. Preservation
Not a huge step, but we feel it is worth mentioning.
After the wedding, we back up all your footage and audio at least three times for redundancy (Two in our office, and one off-site)
We do this to ensure that your memories are protected and you never have to worry about lost footage.

VI. Crafting Your Story
“This is where the fun begins!”
Every piece of footage and every word of audio captured is carefully culled to make sure we’re putting together the best possible version of your story.
We want to make sure we’re including the best possible versions of Grandma laughing or the best possible versions of nieces and nephews smiling. We want to make sure we don’t miss a thing, so we watch and listen to ALL OF IT. By the time we’re done, we feel like we know you and your family as if they’re our own.
Once we’re done culling all the footage and audio, it’s time to craft. We build your story.
I can promise you that every ounce of love we have is being poured into your final masterpiece, and when the film is delivered, it’ll feel like the wedding was yesterday.
We never put a time limit on our films because we don’t like to limit our creativity. The films are done once they ‘feel finished, ‘ once they feel like the best possible re-telling of YOU.
After the final touches of the film are applied, we test-watch multiple times for possible mistakes, send the film to a few designated ‘reviewers,’ and assuming everything looks great, we deliver your film!

Do you Outsource your Editing?
Our couples mean everything to us. From start to finish, we do it all. We don’t outsource any steps of the creative process (shooting or editing). We don’t say this as a brag but more as an assurance that you know all the love and care possible is going into one of your most precious heirlooms. When you hire Fox Jump Cinematics, you’re getting Fox Jump Cinematics through and through.
What is a Cinematic Wedding Film, and how long are they?
Unlike your typical ‘Highlight Film,’ our ‘Cinematic Wedding Films’ are focused on telling your best story, and your story deserves more than just a fancy music video of your wedding. The Cinematic Wedding Films are all content-driven in length. Every story is different, so we stop creating once your story feels finished.
What is a Teaser Trailer?
It’s more like a ‘Highlight Film.’ We make mini trailers shortly after the wedding so you can show them to your friends and family.
What is the Full Ceremony Video? Do I have to add one in order for our ceremony to be captured?
We will absolutely capture the full Ceremony and Toasts, and our goal is always to put as much of those events as possible in the ‘Cinematic Wedding Film;’ that pushes the narrative forward. However, all of the Ceremony may not make it into the final cut. That’s where the Ceremony Video comes in. This gives you a complete replay of the ceremony from start to finish, edited for clarity and ease of watching, so you can relive every moment and every word said.
What is a Reception Toasts Video? Do I have to add one in order for our toasts to be captured?
Much like the ‘Ceremony Video,’ the Toasts video serves as a play-by-play of the Reception Toasts, as they happened, with every word. Of course, we’re going to capture the toasts.
Do you include Aerial Coverage?
Where safe and permissible.
Would you be willing to include Raw Footage?
We’re happy to give you the Raw Footage. Ask for more details.
Can I Customize any of the Packages?
We recognize that every couple is different, with different needs. If the offerings in our packages below don’t fit your wedding or elopement, please don’t hesitate to ask how we can make a package just for you!
